Stature.

It takes a strong man to handle a broken woman;
& an even stronger one to not find her broken at all;
To see the fractures in her stature
as brief glimpses of the blinding light inside her soul.

It’s possible that you shine brighter than you’ve ever known
& all this time you’ve just been blinded.

Light Me Up.

There is a light at the end of this tunnel.
A hopeful luminosity in your eyes;
Too far to rely on, but close enough to whisper to.
I close my eyes & forget about the darkness.
I hold my breath & hope you hear my quiet calling:
“Light me up.”
